Member-only story
I’m not certain if I’m the only writer who adores the fleeting feeling of being so deeply immersed in a book — not because of the words themselves; not saying the words aren’t as alluring but I simply refer to reading — breathing — through the voice of the writer. I feel hypnotized by Anaïs’ voice. I am currently reading ‘The Diary of Anaïs Nin’ It inspires me to write in my own and forsake everything I’ve been taught about writing by staying true to myself and my God-given gift of my authentically beautiful and unique voice.
I conjure her way of writing in my own way, the best way I can, especially with my ongoing book, Forbidden Tree.
Something about the rawness of writing in the first person and being so relaxed in your own essence speaks to me on a deeply spiritual level.
Her deeply insightful and introspective nature inspires me to continue down the road I’ve chosen for Forbidden Tree and I hope that through my channeling of Anaïs Nin, I’m able to do just that. Hopefully, by taking my readers through a journey — an entrancing journey that beautifully allows them to read through the voice of Deliláh, my story’s protagonist will aid them in understanding where she’s coming from and maybe even sympathizing with her.
