Only the things I had to —
I’d say.
To survive in what’s become of the world
I wish things were different — so that I wouldn’t have to be this way —
But more or less I’m still the same
I’ve tried my best to remain pure hearted
I’ve done what I needed to — to ensure my skies stayed warm and fuzzy
Birds, butterflies and dragonflies danced — buzzed around me steadily
And my moon —
My moon stayed blooming and oblivious
Mysterious in the night sky —
Blooming and oblivious to the dangers it seemed to illuminate at night;
Illuminating them as though things were the way they should be, all in its right array, order — direction.
Regardless of the nights I waste away
Trying to make known the reasons for why things are the way they are
I’m still the same
My goal has never changed
It is as if I’m somehow convinced
That if I figure it out — the dark way of life
I’ll be okay —
